The artists rendering of the monument

A monument to honour the farmers who have lost their lives producing the food we need.

Work Farming remains one of the most dangerous occupations in Canada, yet these losses are often invisible to the broader public.

The proposed monument will serve both as a solemn tribute and an educational tool—honouring those who have died while feeding the world and reminding all who see it of the real human cost of agricultural work. By providing a place for families and communities to grieve, reflect, and gather, while fostering connection and healing.
